Promotion of Well-Being – Have You Tried Meditation?

Meditation is the process of freeing your mind, and allowing yourself to just sit down and relax without anything blocking you from doing so. There are people out there who have been meditating for year after year, and have yet to perfect the process; there are also others who have managed to perfect it in a matter of months (or so they say!). Meditation is tough because you are essentially battling yourself in your mind, it’s where you try and keep a clean slate and free yourself from anything you could have ever wanted or hoped for.

You stop being a cog in the machine that we call society and you instead turn into your own person, an individual of sorts. It will sound crazy to some, but I have been meditating for well over 10 years now. It has helped me out quite a bit, as I’ve been able to learn much moure about myself than I could have ever hoped to. Time will tell how much I’ve learned in reality, but I do feel like the entire event has allowed me to change into the person I’ve always wanted to become! Everybody on the planet gets stressed out from time to time, and there are many ways to go about relaxing. Some of us will watch our favorite movie, and others love being in the kitchen. Personally, I just need a quiet and warm space outside to get inside of my own head for meditation time.

The number of prescription pills and other medicines that are made available to you is staggering, to say the least. You’ll be getting pills shoved down your throat by the doctor by the time you are 40 years old, and there’s no real sense of gratification. You feel left out in the dust, and it’s almost like you have to deal with your medical problems yourself. Meditation is going to cure cancer, but it can definitely help you out with depression and other things along the lines of that.

Meditation: The Great Debate

Whether it works or doesn’t work is something that you have to figure out for yourself. I always say that the journey into ones soul is going to differ from person to person, because we all don’t share the same soul. However you look at the situation, there will always be alternative ways to go about treating mental problems, meditation being one of them. Is it going to overtake pills and other medicines anytime soon? Probably not, but for those that can successfully meditiate, they know the true powers that are held behind closed doors.

Once you are able to master your mind, there is nothing else that you cannot conquer in life! Meditation will give you purpose, but also give you a sense of peace at the same time. There isn’t anything else in this life that can give you something like that.

Did You Know That Fats Can Be Good For You?

Fatty foods and almost everything related to fat is going to be looked at as bad, but that’s something that we’re getting wrong. Fats aren’t going to make you obese if you’re eating the right ones, as well as making sure that you’re taking in a good amount. When you overeat, of course, there are going to be issues that arise – but that has nothing to do with the fats themselves. Eating fat can help promote a health digestive system, as well as just ensure that you’re getting all of the nutritional value needed from your meals. Lean meat is nice and all, and there are people who swear by it; but a thick and juicy steak with a nice strip of fat never hurt anybody.

People avoid fats because they are lead to believe that they are a problem in their diet, when that really isn’t the case. I am a professional health and well being expert, and I take pride in eating as much fat as I can – which, ironically, isn’t much. We all have different bodies and they will react differently to fat, that’s one of the best parts about being a human. Test out the amount of fat that you can take by gradually increasing your intake until you feel bloated, or otherwise “different”.

Sugar highs and crashes are a real thing, but there is no such thing as a fat high or fat crash. Fats are bad in abundance, because when you eat too many they will build up and cause you to gain weight. Not only will you be gaining weight, but it won’t be the good kind. Many people have a tough time packing on muscle and think that eating a bunch of food can help, and while that is true, you need to make sure you’re working out just as much. Fats can be good for:

  • Energy
  • Refreshment
  • Taste
  • Nutritional Value

These are 4 things that fats can help you with, especially the taste category. Who wants to be eating bland food on a day to day basis? I know that I don’t!

The Right Foods

There are foods that contain fat you would never even think did, and there are others that would be the complete opposite. Get into the habit of checking the ingredients in the food you are eating, as well as looking at the “macros”. This is the calorie per serving count that the food has, as well as the percentage of fats and any other nutritional value that may be within. People don’t check labels and it comes back to bite them in the butt, especially when they are in the middle of a diet. Don’t be that person! Keep your eyes peeled and always be sure to check the ingredients/macros of the food that you’ll be purchasing.

Tips – Developing a New Diet

Your well being is almost everything you have in life, besides the well being of your friends and family. If you don’t take care of yourself, there’s nobody else that will; that means that you’ve got to develop a new diet whenever the time comes. Some would say that you’re better off to just go with one of the many available diet plans that others are used to, but where is the fun in that? The whole point of dieting is all about enjoying new foods, but also learning more about yourself and how far you’re willing to take things. When a new diet is brought up in any given conversation, I tend to look the other way – despite the fact that I’m one of the healthiest individuals that I know (not to toot my own horn or anything). I eat a lot of greens and I even go as far as juicing once or twice every week (as in juicing fruits and veggies, not the other kind that most people will know about).

Losing weight will call for many different changes to be made, one of them including a new diet being introduced into your routine. If you aren’t willing to change the things that you put into your body, there is no telling how far you’ll get into the weight loss process. Losing weight takes more than just changing what you eat though, it’s all about changing what you’re thinking as well. If you don’t approach the entire thing with a healthy mindset, it’s going to go bad. People will try and lose too much weight, too quickly – leading to problems that they never ever though they would be dealing. There are eating disorders and other ailments like body dismorphia, but that’s something for another article in itself. Diets can help out quite a bit, but they aren’t a miracle pill by any means.

How Do I Find the Right Diet?

The right diet will find you in many instances, as you’ll just learn to eat things that you enjoy to prepare but also enjoy consuming just as much. Cooking food is going to be a big deal, especially since we live in an era that is dominated by fast food companies. Fast food companies have been providing us with cheap food options for many generations now, and while the quickness of the food has been going up, the quality hasn’t. There are a lot of things wrong with fast food joints these days, and you would be much better off buying your own ground beef and making home-made burgers on the grill.

Diets come in many different forms, some of which will call for you to consume nothing but liquids. If you feel like it’s going to work for you and you’re a huge fan of smoothies, I would say go for it; other than that, I don’t know how much nutritional value you’re truly going to get out of nothing but juice!
